The Aberdeen City Council Torry Heat Network is bringing low-cost, low-carbon heating to homes and public buildings in your area — and you could be part of it. Powered by heat recovered from the North East Scotland Shared energy-from-waste facility and Tullos Recycling Centre, the network is helping cut bills, reduce emissions, and support Aberdeen’s transition to net zero.

Cleaner, greener, heat for your home
All the heat we distribute in Torry is recovered via a heat offtake at the East Tullos Ness energy-from-waste plant and a heat distribution facility at Tullos Recycling Centre. Heat and hot water then reaches customers via our own 3.7-mile network of underground pipes.
Through this process, we help keep non-recyclable waste from Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, and Moray out of landfill by transforming it into clean, affordable energy.
Properties connected to the Torry Network receive a reliable service through a compact, wall-mounted, indoor unit — there’s no flue, no need for a boiler, and no fossil fuels.
