Properties on the Torry Heat Network

If you live in a home connected to the Aberdeen City Council Torry Heat Network, this page is for you.
You are responsible for setting up your own account with Aberdeen Heat & Power, who manage your billing and payments and can help with any issues you have.
Your home is connected to a district heating network which provides heat and hot water from a heat distribution centre at Tullos Recycling Centre. Instead of having an individual gas boiler, the heat is delivered to your home via a Heat Interface Unit (HIU) — a small wall-mounted unit inside your home that acts like a mini boiler.
This network is powered by heat recovered from the North East Scotland Shared energy-from-waste facility. It means:
No individual gas bills
No combustion inside your home
Lower carbon emissions
Reliable, community-based energy
