Your heating system
Within your property, your heating system parts are very similar to that of a typical individual gas central heating system, and include the following:
Heat interface unit (HIU)
This is the box on the wall, which looks similar to a gas boiler, and is where the heat from the Network is transferred to your home.
Digital thermostatic programmer
This is the main control for your heating, and is the small unit fixed to the wall in the hallway. The programmer allows you to set the heating so it automatically heats your home to the temperature you need.
Thermostatic radiator valve (TRV)
Allows you to control the temperature in each room, by adjusting the position of the valve between zero and five.
The TRV controls the amount of heat (hot water) that comes into each radiator by sensing the temperature of the air in the room and switches on and off automatically to keep the room temperature constant, based on your setting. Will only work if the main heating system control, the Digital Programmer, is on and asking for heat.
