If you rent a flat high-rise building through Aberdeen City Council, this page is for you.
Your flat is connected to a district heating network, which provides heat and hot water from a central Energy Centre. Instead of having an individual gas boiler, the heat is delivered to your home via a Heat Interface Unit (HIU) — a small wall-mounted unit inside your flat that acts like a mini boiler.
This network is powered by a combination of gas boilers and energy-efficient Combined Heat and Power (CHP) engines. It means:

No combustion inside your home
